Director of Human Resources

 

LOCATION:        Willimantic

 

JOB SUMMARY:  The Director of Human Resources position is a key management role within Generations Family Health Center, Inc., and is responsible for supporting, guiding and managing all human resources related matters.   The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational HR leadership and assumes overall responsibilities for the management of all HR functions including employee/ labor relations, workforce development, compensation and benefits administration and regulatory compliance.

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compliance with employment related state and federal statutory and regulatory requirements
  • Employee/labor relations including contract negotiation, labor mediation, and conflict resolution
  • Disciplinary process- including termination, consultative intervention, support and management
  • Coordinate leaves of absence (all types) from a human resources and regulatory perspective
  • Provider, professional and staff employee recruitment, retention and development
  • Payroll administration and supervision
  • Benefits management and/or oversight including liaison to employee assistance program, health, dental, vision, 403b, COBRA, workers compensation, and other benefit programs
  • Participate in organizational planning related to human resources
  • Position description development including competency criteria
  • Performance review development, monitoring and process management
  • With senior management; develop, monitor and manage agency compensation plans (merit, COLA, bonus)
  • Hiring process management including screening, interviewing, salary negotiation, contracts, and orientation
  • Human Resource policy and procedure management, development, maintenance, monitoring, reference
  • Maintenance of personnel files to meet regulatory standards
  • Personnel and human resources surveys (including employee satisfaction), data management and reporting
  • Risk management related to human resources
  • Targeted education and team building interventions

 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor of science in human resources management or related field. Masters degree preferred.  At least 10 years experience working directly in the human resources field, preferably in a health care setting and with a non-profit organization.  Knowledge of and demonstrated compliance with human resources related regulatory requirements and issues.  Experience practicing as an HR Generalist with a strong focus on Employee/ Labor Relations.  Strong consultative and collaboration skills.
