Assistant Medical Director, Physician 

 

 

Qualifications:   M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school; Documented completion of a residency from an accredited institution in an appropriate specialty; Board certification or Board eligibility desirable; Current licensure in State of Connecticut; Valid Federal and State Controlled Substance Licenses; Demonstrated leadership and commitment to community health center medicine and significant experience in ambulatory care with at least three years progressively responsible experience.   


Job Summary:  The Assistant Medical Director will work closely with the Medical Director and assist in the coordination of the overall health care delivery system at Generations Family Health Center.  Responsibilities include assisting in creating and driving medical policy and practice guidelines; collaborating and assisting with the oversight and coordination of all provider functions including patient care, quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives; and the opportunity to lead comprehensive projects  (e.g., EMR conversion).  The Assistant Medical Director will represent the Medical Director in his absence and attend meetings within Generations and in the community as needed.  Initially administrative duties will comprise approximately 20% of the workweek.  The remainder will be clinical with the same responsibilities that pertain to a primary care provider including providing night and weekend coverage in rotation with colleagues as necessary.
