Location: Willimantic
Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited
medical school. Documented completion of a residency from an
accredited institution in an appropriate specialty if graduated from medical school after 1973. Board certification or
Board eligibility desirable. Current licensure in
State of Connecticut. Valid Federal and State Controlled Substance License. Outstanding medical and administrative skills.
Job Summary: Reports to the Chief Medical Officer and
works collegiately with the management team to reach organizational goals. Provider oversight of all regional medical providers in their
functions including patient care, laboratory services, quality assurance and infection control.
May be required to cover certain administrative
responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer in his/her absence.

Administrative
Duties:
Approximately 8 hours per week or 20 % of time.
Responsibilities encompass
supervising, evaluating, and managing performance of providers. The Regional
Medical Director collaboratively will assist the Chief Medical Officer in
recruitment and retention of providers, maintains regional productivity
standards, financial accountability, assisting in development of policies and
procedures and special projects.

Clinical
Responsibilities and Duties: Approximately 32 hours per week or 80 % of time. Provide quality
primary care services. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive
physical examinations and compile patient medical data including health,
developmental and psychosocial history of patient and exam results;
Order/perform and interpret screening, diagnostic procedures and tests;
Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic
regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of
daily living, and health maintenance; Develop and implement patient management
plans and assist in provision of continuity of care; Perform therapeutic
procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and
managing infection; Perform minor office surgical procedures, dressing changes,
and ambulatory treatments and diagnostics in accordance with approved
privileges; Provide/utilize
opportunities for health education for patients and families; Provide coverage
to patients admitted to local hospital; May provide night and weekend coverage
in rotation with colleagues; Participate in agency quality assurance and
improvement efforts and in the establishment or revision of clinical policies
and protocols.
