Health Care to the Homeless (HCH)

Generations Family Health Center receives Health Care to the Homeless (HCH) funding agency wide.  In addition, each site uses various resources to provide quality healthcare to homeless individuals.  Some examples of the type of resources utilized are as follows:  local hospitals’ mobile van, university medical students, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, and faith-based organizations.  Educational activities, flu vaccine clinics and blood pressure screenings are some of the ways we are able to provide the much needed quality health care to the homeless population.  The success of Generations programs are contingent upon the team approach with various social services agencies.  Our mission involves commitment to provide quality, compassionate and professional health care that is affordable, easily accessible and without discrimination to all members of the communities we serve.  Through this program, we had 3900 visits by homeless patients in the 2003 calendar year.
