About our Danielson Site
- The Generations Family Health Center of Danielson, housed in
the Daniel's Pharmacy building, is
located in the borough of Danielson in the rural northeastern town
of Killingly (population 17,098 (2005 Census)), located 22 miles
from the Massachusetts border and less than 5 miles from the Rhode
Island border.
- In 1988, the agency secured federal Health Care for the
Homeless funding and began providing health care at the ACCESS
60-bed emergency shelter.
- In 1993, Generations Family Health Center received additional
funding under the State’s Community Health Center Expansion
Initiative to develop a community health center on Broad Street.
Consequently, the services provided under the Health Care for the
Homeless project were moved out of the shelter and further
enhanced. The site still maintains a very close working
relationship with the ACCESS Shelter.
- In 1995, minor renovations were completed on the site to bring
it up to code and ADA compliance.
- In 2004, Generations moved to a site in the Daniel's
Pharmacy Building at 54 Reynolds Street.
- As Generations Family Health Center’s smallest site,
Danielson provided 7,792 medical visits in FY2007. Of this number, 25% are
homeless users.
